BANGKOK WAT(s) REVIVAL

MYSTICAL TOUR 2ND ROUND - FEBRUARY 1997

The first round of the Bangkok temples took place in 1983, and memories from such trip as well as descriptions of the temples may be seen here. So, I'll reduce words. Fourteen years later, when we compare sites and pictures, we may conclude that great improvements were made!

***

WAT PO

WAT PO - The oldest and largest temple in Bangkok"

"GOLDEN BUDDHA"

"RECLINING BUDDHA in much better shape. Surely re-gilded..."

***

WAT ARUN

"WAT ARUN - «Temple of the Dawn», probably the better known symbol of Bangkok"

Thanks Anu. Did you venture to compare with the 1983 pictures?

Thanks Marie. It's hard to control the different Trotter blogs. From the predigital, the 70's is closed; the 80's is still in 1985; the 90s in February 1997; finally, the digital - Blogtrotter - is now reaching the end of May 2005!

Hi JoAnn,
Bangkok is somehow chaotic, but is a must see! I’ll check your pictures of France and Spain.

Raghu,
Thanks. One day I'll travel to India; it's a shame, but I've never been there!

JoAnn,
Thanks. I'm going to check it!
